Every culture has their own specific rituals and traditions with which they initiate young boys into manhood. Meet the right of passage for the American Male 2009. Snuggie-Mitzvah

Happy Birthday, Jonathan. His sister Jen wrote in saying that he just got his Snuggie today. It's still got that new car smell. So this is our first same-day Snuggie Sighting to be posted. I'm sure we all here can agree that a Snuggie beats an X-Box or Wii hands down (under a blanket).

Fox and Friends recently ran a piece on the Snuggie. Here is a link to their Snuggy Parody. Below are screen captures from their parody, with some creative liberties with the captions.

You wanna keep warm when you're feeling chilled,
But you don't want to raise your heating bill.
Blankets are "ok", but they can slip and slide,
and when you need to reach for something (such as your underwater harpoon),
your hands are trapped inside.
Now, there's the Scuba Snuggie - the Underwater Blanket with Sleeves.
Not only is the Snuggie perfect for those "Drafty Dorm Rooms", but those 117,000 gallon aquariums that contain over 4,000 tropical fish - such as the Silverton Casino Aquarium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Thanks, Scott, for sending us your Scuba Snuggie pic! And for the record, the diver's name is Jerry. Perhaps Jerry should contact the Guiness Book of World Records as the first Underwater Snuggie Scuba Diver. I hear a rumor that there are mermaids in that tank.

You've seen her in the Snuggie Commercial. Now find out more about Snuggie Diva Jane DeNoble.
Snuggie Fact #1: In her early acting years, she had the ability to grow to extremely large sizes. This came in handy and won her a sweet gig in London for TWININGS. Pictured below, Jane stares down Big Ben.

She also enjoys bass and fly fishing (attention casting directors - Cast Jane DeNoble in 'A River Runs Through it 2' Immediately), she has no allergies, can square dance, and to top it all off; she's great with kids (see Snuggie Fact #3). Source = Jane DeNoble Resume.
Snuggie Fact #5: Jane's favorite movie is Beetlejuice, favorite holiday is Halloween, favorite food is Chocolate Eclairs, and her worst job was as a Barney Imitator. Source = Bamboo Shark Bio Page

Grinding Metal in a Snuggie. OSHA hearts the Snuggie in the Workplace
Jay wrote to us about his job. This is not a blue collar job, but a blue Snuggie job. Jay says, "As soon as our snuggies arrived we put them on and immediately noticed a reduction in the electric bill!"

We were the first website to report the nationwide craze known as the Snuggie Drinking Game. It has since been reported in the USA Today (along with a mention of this website).
We now present to you the natural extension to the Snuggie Drinking Game: Snuggie Beer Pong. At the time of this writing, the rules of this game are not clear. One thing we do know is that the referee uses a ShamWow instead of a Yellow Penalty Flag. The ShamWow also comes in handy for the inevitable spills.
If you know the rules to this game, please enter them into the comments.

Michael is the one without the black box covering his face. He is also the one wearing the Snuggie in a Church of Scientology in New Mexico. Seeing this photo reminds me of the Raise the Roof in Your Snuggie entry from yesterday, where we noted the inability of Snuggie wearers to keep their arms down. After a lifetime of being stuck under blankets, the Snuggie will set you free.
The complimentary booklight can light a 400 square foot room. Bottled water not included
Doh! There's a deep recession going on, with no end in sight. But there is a light gleaming as a bastion of hope at the end of the tunnel. Said light which gleams is the Snuggie Complimentary Booklight.
The Complimentary Booklight is perfect for Spelunking
The Snuggie commercial so eloquently reminds us that wearing the Snuggie helps lower your heating bills. What goes unmentioned is that you can lower your electric bill by illuminating your home with the Complimentary Booklight. Travis has found that he can light a 400 square foot room with a single booklight. Travis is a textbook example of the 21st Century Snuggie Survivalist. He has everything he needs: Snuggie, Water, Shelter, and Booklight.
We previously noted the Snuggie Gang Sign Phenomenon in our Snuggie Gangland Collection - the inexplicable desire to flash gang signs while wearing a Snuggie. Besides this curiousity, others react to the Snuggie by raising their arms. Once one is free from the bondage of the blanket, the arms are sure to rise. Can I get an amen?
Two popular poses are "The Moses", exhibited by Bryan (pictured above), and the "Happy Little Crop Duster" modeled by Phoenix, below.
Phoenix says, \'Vroom Vroom. I\'m the Merry Snuggie Crop Duster! Oh La La\'
