Anne writes, "here is a snuggie sighting on board the Diamond Princess on Christmas Eve 2009 from Auckland to Sydney Australia" - What can I say? I ran across this going through old emails. After a long wait, here's your aquatic Snuggie Sighting, Anne!
Let's take a closer look at that Snuggie.
Wadrienne continues their Australian Snuggie tour with this awesome snap.
Also, here's a great video clip from A Current Affair Australia.

Snuggie fever
The Snuggie continues it's march towards world domination, taking Australia by storm. (Snuggie fans in Australia can order their Snuggie or Snuggie for kids here - SnuggieAustralia.com) So here's how the Snuggie phenomenon starts - someone gets a Snuggie. Before you know it, someone wants to share the warmth, and often (for whatever reason) a bottle of alcohol makes an appearance. Here are some recent Snuggie Sightings sent my way from some good Facebook friends from Australia.
The magic with the Snuggie is that it is one size fits all, and when we say all, we mean, ALL. There's always room for one more friend to join the Fleecy Frivolity. Always.
If you can't wear the Snuggie, you at least want to get close to it - perhaps feel the fleece, lick some chocolate off your fingers like Barney here...you know, typical Snuggie fun.
Here is Jackie O from the Kyle and Jackie O Show - Australia's #1 Radio Show. This pic came from TwitPic, where she says 'Just got sent a Snuggie, am predicting this will be fashion's hottest item. It's a blanket with sleeves.' Snuggie is now hitting Australia big, and Jackie O is going to be right. It will be the hottest fashion item for Australia, just like it is in the U.S.
Here are some useful links for our Australian Snuggie friends:
Snuggie Pub Crawls - They have swept the United States, with a crawl happening today 5/21 in Madison, Wisconsin and another on 5/23 in Rapid City, South Dakota. There are Snuggie Pub Crawls scheduled well into June, and we are in the Northern Hemisphere where it is getting quite warm. There are also crawls scheduled for this fall (New Orleans, and Atlanta soon to be added to the list). There's also a Snuggie Pub Crawl Blog for updates and news items.
Backwards Snuggie - The opening goes in the back. And here's a Public Service Announcement on this very important subject.
Update: Snuggie Now Available for Purchase Online in Australia
So, what's Snuggie Corp to do now that the weather is warming up here in the States? Look to the Southern Hemisphere of course, and specifically Australia.
mUmBRERLLA is reporting that the Snuggie commercial is hitting the airwaves in the Land Down Under.
There's soon to be Australian Snuggie Sightings.
