I had previously written that Oprah wore a pink Snuggie for Kids on her show on March 6. Now there is a full-sized Pink Snuggie available for adults, which is also known as the Breast Cancer Snuggie for Breast Cancer Awareness.

RANDOM ACTS OF SNUGGIE KINDNESS
A couple of days ago, I posted Snuggieless in Toronto - Can Someone Help a Snuggie-Less Brother Out?
Brian Finch from AcidRefluxWeb.com wanted to do an interview of comedian Richard Ryder in a Snuggie. I put out the appeal with that previously linked post, hoping that we'd have a happy ending.
I am glad to announce that Brian will be able to do his interview while staying warm and cozy in a Designer Snuggie. Someone named SnuggieGirl ?? pulled through for him. I think she's someone hanging out on SnuggieBook.com - the Social Network with Sleeves - which I launched this Monday. The Snuggie Nation answered the call and now only time will tell if comedian Richard Ryder will join Brian in donning a Snuggie.
The Snuggie was worn by this local weatherman to give his forecast.
Check it out here at abc6.com. I think this is the first Weatherman Snuggie Sighting. He doesn't realize just how cutting edge he is, based on the title of his entry. The video on the page is also very long, full of news Snuggie Sightings and unfortunately cannot be embedded on this site. Oh well.
So, I just wrote earlier this morning about how the Snuggie is the Security Blanket for the 21st Century. And then I ran across Just Hold Me on Newsweek, which posted about an hour ago. The article was well-written, humorous, and happens to mention the Snuggie as our Security Blanket. Hmm...That sounds familiar.
But seriously, I doubt that the writer of the article got that term here. It's just one of those things that's in the collective cultural air. So, not only will you be seeing the term "Pimp My Snuggie" a lot, you will also see a lot about "Snuggie as Security Blanket" out in the lexicon of right now...
...and word to the wise - start stockpiling those Snuggies now, because I think they'll be resold on eBay at profit come late November of this year. Remember how hard it was to find a Wii a couple of Christmases ago? I am telling you now, no matter how many Snuggies the Snuggie people churn out between now and then, they will not be able to meet demand. I could be wrong on this, but I don't think so. I do know that people are planning crazy things to do in Snuggies out in the heat and humidity of Summer - this will be way funny to see and I think the Snuggie is just beginning to heat up.

It seems everyone wants to stake their claim to Snuggie history. There is something to be said in being first related to the Snuggie. Well, apparently a New Orleans Mardi Gras Snuggie reveler saw the post about NickNock in St. Louis, sporting their Snuggies and Beads. Allen sent in these pics, claiming that they are from February 20, 2009 - during the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans.
Allen wanted me to set the record straight, that he and his friend Eric, in the red Snuggie, were the originators of this idea a (and I quote): "full day before, on February 20, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisisana (his spelling). I have attached a few photos of our snug-stoumes (again, his spelling) from that night on Burbon (once again, his spelling). We would like the record corrected." (that must have been SOME party going down on Bourbon Street).
So Allen, I have corrected the record, giving you your due. Now please put that Snuggie on correctly. Congrats on making Mardi Gras history. I'm sure 2010 Mardi Gras is going to have a sea of Snuggies.
It is getting VERY hard to keep up with the tidal wave of Snuggie news hitting right now. I guess they are not ones to sit back and relax. Just yesterday I announced the new Snuggie for kids, available in Blue and Pink. Today, I present to you...(Snuggie Drum Roll Please)...Designer Snuggie.
The Designer Snuggie is available in 3 different prints - Zebra, Leopard, and Camel. You'll also recognize some familiar faces in the new Designer Snuggie commercial.
So I ran across an excellent article by Sarah Radwanick on comscore.com. She covers the popularity of the Snuggie, and is cool enough to be pictured reading and typing on a laptop at the same time. Sarah could not do this in a soul-crushing, restrictive blanket.
What drew me to your article Sarah (she will find this of interest, from a comScore-ish perspective) was a Google Alert that triggered for the term "Celebrity Snuggie Sightings". Although she didn't point to this post about the Today Show Snuggie Sightings, I was jazzed over this particular word choice "Snuggie Sightings" in her article. It was of interest to me because back on January 10 when I had the idea for this site, I performed a search on Google for the term "Snuggie Sighting" and there was Nada. To see this term being used out in the jet stream of our culture is kind of cool.
Thanks, Sarah, for letting me post your pic. I'm tagging this as a "Celebrity Snuggie Sighting" so when someone searches in the future, you'll be right up there with Al Roker. Awesome. And seriously, great article (I'm way into Search Marketing). And just so you know, Sarah, since this site's inception, traffic from Search Engines has been 14.52% (I am surprised by how low this is). And yes, I'm totally trying to get Sarah to write about my site, because 46.42% of my traffic comes from referring sites.
SnuggieSightings.com learned something new today. At the time of this writing, only the Blue Snuggies are available in retail outlets, such as Walgreen's Target, etc.
