PC Magazine has named SnuggieSightings.com one of their Favorite Blogs of 2009. Many thanks to everyone who has submitted a photo or video this year of their Snuggie Sightings. An award such as this, while not quite as epic as a Leg Lamp, is a testament to the creativity and humor of Snuggie fans worldwide.

I have seen footage of the latest Snuggie commercial that is airing in Australia and am awaiting a higher quality version to post online. During the intro of the commercial, this website's domain name makes an appearance.

This is the same commercial announcing the $10 price reduction on Snuggies in Australia. I will update this post once I have the video file and approval to post it online.

One additional note - the end of the commercial voiceover states "Warming Australia, one Snuggie at a Time" - that closely resembles the tag line of this website, "Making the World a Warmer Place…One Snuggie at a Time" - Consider Mr. Snuggie Sightings honored. (Of course, I'm considering updating this site's tagline to "Blanketing the Earth...With Sleeves")

The Snuggie continues it's march towards world domination, taking Australia by storm. (Snuggie fans in Australia can order their Snuggie or Snuggie for kids here - SnuggieAustralia.com) So here's how the Snuggie phenomenon starts - someone gets a Snuggie. Before you know it, someone wants to share the warmth, and often (for whatever reason) a bottle of alcohol makes an appearance. Here are some recent Snuggie Sightings sent my way from some good Facebook friends from Australia.

The magic with the Snuggie is that it is one size fits all, and when we say all, we mean, ALL. There's always room for one more friend to join the Fleecy Frivolity. Always.

If you can't wear the Snuggie, you at least want to get close to it - perhaps feel the fleece, lick some chocolate off your fingers like Barney here...you know, typical Snuggie fun.

Here's a ... different type of Snuggie parody. I suppose if Christopher McCandless, the extreme survivalist who was the subject of the 2007 film 'Into the Wild', had a Snuggie, he may have survived...or at least his rotting corpse would have been wrapped in a blanket with sleeves when it was discovered in that bus...but I digress. Much of this clip will make absolutely no sense if you are not familiar with the 'Into the Wild' story, but there are Snuggie Sightings nonetheless.

Pictured here is Lacey, in her Snuggie, set to pounce. I have reason to believe that Lacey, while she appears harmless, warm and cozy, is actually Cat Woman.

Consider the Cat Woman evidence: The Scoop Away kitty litter and the scratching post in the background of this picture. Lacey's pose is very cat-like. And Cat Woman and Lacey have never been pictured together. Having a fish tank is just asking for trouble. I am left to conclude that Cat Woman has opted to get rid of the leather costume in favor of something cooler and hip - our friend, the Blanket with Sleeves.

Way to rock the Snuggie, Lacie. You're the cat's meow.

Here is Becca, in her Snuggie. She loves her Snug so much, she is going totally Siskel and Ebert with it. Two thumbs way up for the Snuggie!

Torian, one of the founders of Live Free Films in Baltimore, Maryland, knows how to entertain guests. The blanket with sleeves is the perfect addition to any cocktail party.

Megan and her brother Luke have been waiting patiently for their Snuggies to arrive. I've been following their Snuggie-less plight via Twitter. Well, today is their lucky day, and they cannot contain their Snuggie joy. From Melbourne, Australia, these are the first Snuggie Sightings submitted directly to me.

Congrats Megan. Your Snuggies are going to mean more to you than your movie collection behind you.

And I see from this final pic of Luke, that the Snuggie Restless Arm Syndrome has hopped the pond and is going to spread across Oz in no time.

The Snuggie Restless Arm Syndrome is the curious condition of Snuggie wearers being unable to keep their arms down to their side.
