Jimmy Kimmel airs a Snuggie commercial parody, reminding those that are stranded in the cold, at the airport, etc. that maybe a blanket with sleeves wasn't such a bad idea after all (laugh at the Snuggie at your peril, in other words).

This is one of the stranger Snuggie videos you'll find. A fine piece of acting as this man struggles to escape his Zebra Snuggie. I think he is confusing it with a blanket, which keeps your arms trapped inside.
I thought I was so brilliant. I was going to do a Snuggies on the Ground song to spoof the American Idol 'Pants on the Ground'. Someone beat me to it 3 days ago. Props to you, dude dancing in the shadows (proper lighting in a video, as well as moving a little is so overrated).

With the weather getting colder, cities across America are hosting Snuggie Pub Crawls. There have been at least 47 to date (that I know of), and here are cities crawling this weekend:
Vail, Colorado
College Station, Texas
Cleveland, Ohio
Kansas City, Missouri
Pittsburgh, PA
You can go to SnuggiePubCrawls.com for the latest list of dates and locations. And the fun doesn't stop there, but continues for each weekend through the end of the year. Memphis is crawling the Saturday night after Thanksgiving, and I hear they have over 200 confirmed guests to date. Needless to say, get ready for a whole new level of crawls.

If you have a single marketing bone in your body, you really should study everything Snuggie does. Case in point - Snuggie holds a fashion show yesterday. Some would ask why. Word of mouth...that's why. That Fashion Show has been reported on by numerous news outlets (Time Magazine, Gothamist, etc.), and then spreads across Twitter, Facebook, etc.
As word begins to spread, people start searching online. As more and more people perform a specific search, the term starts popping up and presenting itself to others. So here's an example, revealing that the Snuggie Fashion Show is one of the top searches on DogPile right now (too bad those dogs on their home page aren't wearing Dog Snuggies).
While we are on the subject of marketing, I would be remiss if I didn't congratulate Scott Boilen and All Star Marketing on their Direct Response Marketing Alliance Marketer of the Year Award. They've gone from 4 million Snuggie sales in January to over 15 million today. Umm...HOLY DANG!
So, as I said, All Star/Snuggie has rewritten the playbook when it comes to marketing in today's environment. Simply put - NO ONE gets more free advertising than Snuggie. It's to the point now that all they have to do is launch a new commercial and all the media outlets clamor to cover it and give free airtime. Here's a clip that exemplifies this phenomenon - wait for Willie Geist to finish on his Kanye West take and he'll then air a free Snuggie ad on his show about a minute into this clip.
With all this said, I'm prepping a 10 day/10 part series on how you can use Snuggies to market your own business or brand, offering up ideas on how you can get hundreds of thousands of eyeballs. Get ready for fun in fleece.
Who ever said the Snuggie resembles a choir robe? This Snuggie Choir is doing all they can to combat that crazy-headed myth by singing of their love of the Blanket with Sleeves on Australian television recently.

Here's a ... different type of Snuggie parody. I suppose if Christopher McCandless, the extreme survivalist who was the subject of the 2007 film 'Into the Wild', had a Snuggie, he may have survived...or at least his rotting corpse would have been wrapped in a blanket with sleeves when it was discovered in that bus...but I digress. Much of this clip will make absolutely no sense if you are not familiar with the 'Into the Wild' story, but there are Snuggie Sightings nonetheless.
