New Orleans Mardi Gras Snuggie Sighting – Backward Snuggie
It seems everyone wants to stake their claim to Snuggie history. There is something to be said in being first related to the Snuggie. Well, apparently a New Orleans Mardi Gras Snuggie reveler saw the post about NickNock in St. Louis, sporting their Snuggies and Beads. Allen sent in these pics, claiming that they are from February 20, 2009 – during the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans.
Allen wanted me to set the record straight, that he and his friend Eric, in the red Snuggie, were the originators of this idea a (and I quote): “full day before, on February 20, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisisana (his spelling). I have attached a few photos of our snug-stoumes (again, his spelling) from that night on Burbon (once again, his spelling). We would like the record corrected.” (that must have been SOME party going down on Bourbon Street).
So Allen, I have corrected the record, giving you your due. Now please put that Snuggie on correctly. For further enlightenment related to the Backward Snuggie, please see Snuggie PSA – Friends Don’t Let Friends Wear their Snuggie Backwards and Backwards Snuggies – Stemming the Tide…the life you change may be your own.
Congrats on making Mardi Gras history. I’m sure 2010 Mardi Gras is going to have a sea of Snuggies.
Snuggie Sightings at Watchmen Premiere
While the world went to the Watchmen premiere’s at 12:01 AM Friday, I was home hitting Twitter Search. There were several poetic tweets out there in the wild, all sent via cell phones, that said basically…”Dude. Just saw a dude in a Snuggie at the theater.” So being the polite person that I am, I started tweeting these Twitter Poets, asking them to get a picture and send it in. (Have I mentioned before how amazing Twitter is?) Thanks to Valloq for forwarding this pic. And I believe the person who took the actual shot is the proud owner of this website (trying to provide proper attribution).
And special note to the dude in the pic: I suppose you don’t mind being on this site, considering that you wore a Snuggie to the Watchmen Premiere. Nothing says ‘Notice Me’ quite like that. If you spot yourself here, please let me know your name so I can give you props as well for sporting the Snuggie in public.
